The 6" Compact Fluorescent New Construction Housing for use with Open Trims from the ELEMENT Recessed Lighting Collection by Tech Lighting is a modern interpretation of specification grade conventional downlighting based on the principles of the ELEMENT line integrating recessed lighting with architectural design. Pure geometry and seamless corners make the open option an exceptionally clean design element. Installation Note: Flangless trim units include die cast plaster plate with no-fill collar that installs after the ceiling to prevent cracking by unifying the plate, ceiling and housing. Plaster plate is to be mudded over directly up to the aperture for a seamless appearance. Features: Accommodates up to 1.5" ceiling thickness. Airtight and available in IC or NON-IC. Includes integral junction box approved for branch circuit through wiring. Hinged door allows for tool-less entry to junction box from below the ceiling for ballast access. Ballast is mounted to the door and swing out over the aperture for easy access. Available with 30 minute Emergency Ballast and Dimmable Ballast (see options below). Winner of the 2010 Lightfair International Innovation Award.
